Voltaire Fernandez de Leon Domingo was born in Manila, Philippines on 08 August 1970. His parents are Rodolfo Bolinas Domingo, a government photographer for many years, and the former Evelyn Tavarez Fernandez de Leon, a corporate accounts manager for an insurance and HMO brokerage firm. His younger sister, Grethel Domingo-Raypon, was the former principal ballet dancer of Ballet Philippines II, San Jose Cleveland, and Diablo Ballet. She now lives in California with her husband, Russell, and two children. Mr. Domingo started his career as a photographer for Feedback, the high school paper of San Sebastian College - Recoletos in Manila. In 1991, he joined the photography team of Headline Manila, a national-circulated tabloid, headed by award-winning photojournalist Angel Guilas. He later joined its sister-company Philippine Graphic Weekly Magazine as photo correspondent and eventually started contributing photos with other publications. In 2005, he established the first and only wedding photojournalism company in Baguio City, some 250 kms. north of Manila and the summer capital of the Philippines. He and his wife, Marinela Monica, named the company VFDomingo Photography. She is also a partner in O.C. People, an events management and wedding coordination. Mr. Domingo is currently the Bureau Chief and Managing Director of Next Pictures PressPhoto Agency (NPPA Images - Manila), an event documentation photography company which provides high quality digital photo services for the press, stock editorial, and people in general. He also contributes regularly in Cook Magazine, The Staits Times of Singapore, Philippine Graphic Magazine, and BizNews Asia. |
